Hello everyone! We are the ‘NATURE NURTURERS’, who always think twice before throwing anything and always strive to save nature and mother Earth. Our topic is Ecological creativity, wherein we will deal with different art pieces made innovatively out of natural materials like mud, straw, clay etc. These works are of great virtue and value, but somewhere they are getting lost in the modern world. We as, ‘NATURE NURTURERS’ aim to revive these valuable natural artwork and bring them back into today’s world. Last but not the least, our main motive is to be amicable with nature and try to save it by small, but brilliant methods..

MAIN RESEARCH QUESTION:
Which competences do you acquire by creating and promoting an ecological piece of art?
Answer: The competences we acquire by creating and promoting an ecological piece of art are:
- 4R’ s: Make use of the 4R’s – Replace, Reuse, Reduce and Recycle the things to create balance in the ecology.

INTERVIEW QUESTIONNAIRE
SUMMARY
Amidst these trying and testing times, everything has become virtual, including interviews. These interviews are normally conducted in person, but this time, it was through the virtual platform. It sounds different, but it was an enjoyable experience, as it was both unique and attractive. We interviewed our senior art teacher about different aspects of ecological creativity and received interesting answers from her. Aarti miss is a renowned artist and she has created a profound interest in students for art. She has conducted many art exhibitions and has been appreciated almost every time for her work. She also takes part in many competitions and has also secured positions and accolades. Aarti miss was very confident throughout and did not show any signs of nervousness, that are usually found during an interview. She gave all her answers in a very short manner. She was to the point and helped us in restricting the interview due to deficit of time. She was very cooperative. Since she is an artist, she also informed us about the various alternatives that could be used for saving nature. Although her answers were short, they were informative and much more understandable. Finally, we learnt a lot from Aarti Miss and came to know that our nature provides us with so many things, which are valuable and useful to us in many ways, including art.
Lets take a look at the question and answer session:
NAME: MRS AARTI DHANE
DESIGNATION: SENIOR ART & CRAFT TEACHER AT PPSD
What do you mean by ecological creativity? How can you connect it with nature?
Ecological creativity can be defined as creating something new or modifying the existing thing, without disturbing the natural balance of the eco system. Nature boosts creativity and teaches us to associate with new ideas in different flexible ways. We can create many innovative articles from the natural things which are easily available in our surroundings.
What all things can be used for making ecologically creative products?
Natural and organic products can be used for making the artworks. We can make more use of things found in nature and can make productive articles out of it.
Is there any alternative for your product to make the environment safe?
We can reuse many things which are there around us, like cardboard boxes and make creative work out of that. We can replace the things like artificial paints with organic paints and brushes made of animal hair with synthetic brushes.
Could you narrate any experience of yours while making ecological art?
Being an art teacher, she has many functions at school and she makes different sets and backdrops. For that, she needs cardboards, for which she makes use of packaging boxes instead of thermacol and creates wonder out of it.
What is the last message you will give to make our environment safe and clean by making creative yet eco friendly products?
According to miss, there are 4R’s instead of 3 which are :
- Replace the things
- Reduce the things
- Reuse the things
- Recycle the things
This is the best one can do for the ecosystem.
SUMMARY OF THE INTERVIEW
QUESTIONNAIRE
We prepared our questionnaire by framing different questions that would be suitable for the interview related to Ecological Creativity. First of all, we all members created questions by our own and then unanimously decided the five best questions that could be asked. We contacted Aarti miss for our interview and she readily agreed for it. She was very eager and excited since she told that it was the first time when students were taking her interview.
The Leader(Niharika Mishra) and Editor(Ayush MB) asked the questions to her.
We conducted the interview through Zoom which is an online platform and is used by our school for the online classes. Firstly, she told us that Ecological art is something which is made or done by things found in nature. She told us that we should make use of the nature and make organic products .The various alternatives were also explained by her, such as the replacement of thermocol with packaging boxes and cardboard and the animal hair brush with synthetic paint brushes. Also the toxic chemical colours could be replaced by the natural dyes used in the ancient eras. Since she is an art teacher she also described how she and other art and craft teachers took a wise step of replacing thermocol with packaging boxes for making sets and backdrops during different events and programmes.
Finally she gave us an important message of implementing the 4R's which is her policy for saving nature instead of the usual 3R's which everyone is known to. She has added on one more useful 'R', and everyone of us should implement it in our life. They are: REPLACE, REUSE, REDUCE and RECYCLE .If it would have been an in person interview Aarti miss could have shown many of her creative articles , but since it was virtual she could only show one of them which was available at the moment of her interview. Though it was shown in a quick glance it was very simple, creative and eco-friendly lantern which could be used in any festive season. The special feature of the lantern was that it could be reused ample times, since it is foldable.
To conclude, it was a very interactive session and I, Ayush MB, on behalf of 'NATURE NURTURERS' , thank Aarti miss for spending her valuable time with us and sharing her experiences along with describing different ways of saving nature and using natural resources cautiously, but creatively.

MAKING OF THE PRODUCTS
FINAL PRODUCTS
These are some of the simplest, but creative articles which can be used in our day to day life. It may take some time and efforts, but yes, the fruits borne are really appreciable.
Coconut flower vases can be sold at a cheap price and people can buy them at a much more reasonable price than the costly artificial flower vases. LED glass bottles can be used as showpieces and are attractive to the eyes. Newspaper bags can be used to carry some goods, like the items bought from the market. It is a very good and cheap alternative for plastic bags, which are non biodegradable.. Newspaper baskets can be used for keeping fruits or any other different objects. Golden paper necklaces can be used as ornaments. Although it may not be as shiny as actual gold, yet it is attractive and very much cheaper. The leaf table mat can be used as a simple table mat.
These articles are made from the things found in our own Mother Earth. The nature provides us with so many things, and it is up to us if we make use of it, or let it go.
EXHIBITION
We conducted an exhibition for the first time on the virtual platform. Since we were alien to this technique, we visited few virtual exhibitions such as the Kalanidhi conducted by the J.L.M school of arts.
It was a wonderful experience. Teachers appreciated us for our hard work and efforts. All the parents also had a look at the exhibition. They also were very happy with our work.

FIRST VIDEO CONFERENCE (4.11.2020)
We had a meeting with our Netherlands friends on 4th November, 2020. We had Principal Ma’am, teachers and students of both the countries participating in the event. It was a very interactive session where we introduced ourselves and exchanged notes about the current pandemic situation in our respective countries. We then moved on to discuss on climate change and the topics surrounding our projects. We also had song performances. We had a detailed question answer session where both the sides participated with great enthusiasm.
Overall, it was a fun session with lots of learnings on both sides. We hope to have more such interactive sessions in the future as it would help us exchanging views and understanding the opinions of children across the world.

EVIDENCES OF CONVERSATION WITH PARTNER SCHOOL
SECOND VIDEO CONFERENCE
The Second Video Conference was held on 3rd February, 2021, a month after the new year, where people where looking forward to a happy and peaceful life, than the most terrible time the world has faced, 2020.
We started our new year with great ideas and expectations, including the Video Conference with our fellow mates from the Carmel College Netherlands.
First of all, our teachers started the day with a good conversation, with us sitting on a hot afternoon and them sitting on a morning winter day. We had a quite interactive and fruitful session, where we discussed about what all we had done along with the general things such as weather, time, and surroundings. We also showed each other the products we had made.
Overall, it was a wonderful day for both the sides, and we look forward to such meetings and sessions that would enlighten us with knowledge. We also hope that we would stay in touch with our Dutch counterparts.
CONVERSATION AFTER THE SECOND VIDEO CONFERENCE
COMPARISON WITH DUTCH FRIENDS
According to me, we all have worked strenuously and each of us deserves appreciations from one another for the work we have done.
SIMILARITIES:
1. Our main aim was to use the waste produced in making articles that would be attractive and useful.
2. We all put our efforts and did the projects successfully. Both the sides were equally interactive and skillful.
3. Both the sides could not take their interviews in person due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
DIFFERENCES:
1. THE PEOPLE INTERVIEWED:
We had taken the interview of our senior Arts teacher, Mrs. Aarti Dhane, while on the other hand, our Dutch friends took interview of an employee of Gentleberg Shoes and an employee of Yumeko.
2. MAKING OF PRODUCTS:
They have made products which inter relate with each other. One of them has made a pot, another has made paper flowers for the pot, and one of them has made a watering can to water a plant that could be grown in the pot. We have created our own articles, which can be used as showpieces, and are of help in general things, like the paper bag, gold necklace, and the cloth bag.
3. METHOD OF INTERVIEWING:
Our Dutch friends took interviews by mailing the questions to them, while we had an interactive Zoom session to interview our Art teacher.

LEARNINGS FROM THE FINAL PROCESS AND PRODUCT OF YOUR PARTNER GROUP
After looking at the articles made by them, we found that they have made articles out of waste produced at home, just like us. They had made products which were inter related and could be used for general purposes.
We have used several wastes, which were to be thrown, to make simple products out of them and help our nature in behaving responsibly by reusing the waste, which was just about to pollute our mother Earth once it was outside our houses.
We have done a bit of acting responsibly to save our planet, and are proud of our good deeds.

REFLECTION
Learning is much effective by doing. Doing things by yourself makes you self independent and makes you understand the mistakes you make while doing the task. The competences we acquire, the skills we attain, interactivity with people around us, the seriousness to complete a given task, and the reusing of materials in order to create innovative products.
The past year might have been terrible, but EUMIND has its own way of making students do the things they never might have done before. We all thought something unusual and created wonderful articles which are now in our showcase, but would not have been, if EUMIND would not have introduced to us. Everything was planned well and it worked out properly as well. We just had to research on a few things and discuss it with each other. Even by sitting at our homes, we could interact so easily , that we never felt we were out of our classrooms. We would not do anything differently as we found that everything was well planned and we did not need to intrude into anything. We learnt many things. If we order something from online apps, the packaging covers can be taken by the person who delivers the product and it can be used for making innovative and creative products. Learning with our Dutch counterparts helped us inculcating new skills, and of course, social skills.
To conclude, this year was a very good one in sense of fun, learning, teamwork, and leadership. Last, but not the least;
"SEEKING EDUCATION IS JUST LIKE CLIMBING A HILL. ONCE YOU ARE AT THE APEX, YOU HAVE GAINED EVERYTHING"
